Take Action
Contact your local refugee resettlement agency and find out what programs are in need of help, such as household donations (furniture, linen, and cookware to help set-up apartments for new arrivals), money, and/or volunteer assistance.
Organize a film screening of Neither Here Nor There at your school, local library, community service group, or church. Make your screening a fundraiser to assist with the education or living needs of refugees in your community.
Screen the film at local civic clubs, and invite business people who have given refugees meaningful employment opportunities to talk about their success. Invite business people who might be able to employ refugees in the future.
Plan a city-wide refugee awareness week, and include the film as one of the events and invite local refugees to share their stories. Encourage supporters to let their representatives in government know that you support laws and assistance to help refugees in their transition to our country.
Use the film to support policies supportive of refugees. Invite your elected representatives to a screening of the film to discuss refugee related policy issues before Congress. Or, download letters encouraging President Obama to keep refugee admissions strong. You can write your local representatives to join the Congressional Refugee Caucus. Refugee Council USA
Support educational needs of refugees. Research and contact local organizations to see if they would support a scholarship to educate refugees who want to attend a local college or university.
